A Traditional Look: OOTD

Okay so, I am always told that I look the best in Saree, and some tells me only western wear suits me, for me, anything that is comfortable, suits me! Anyways, my mother loves seeing me in Saree and last week her special demand was a picture of me in Saree playing Hawaiian guitar (which I play). And I had to, so on a Sunday afternoon, I convinced my hubby dear to click my pictures, and although he was horrified by the proposal (I cannot guess why!), when I told that my mother wants it, he couldn't say no.

Fashion for Me:

Personally, fashion for me is very fickle, sometimes I like to wear western formal clothes, I even wear my husband's t-shirts sometimes. So, fashion the concept in my head is as confusing as me, but I guess that is what makes me, myself. I never leave any chance of wearing traditional attire because I always root for my traditions and being an Indian I always feel the most beautiful wearing Saree only. Adding the proper accessories, even a simple attire can look very attractive and fashionable, so it is basically how comfortable and easy I am with my attire and looks.

On this day, I wore a Saree which is very popular in West Bengal in the name of Jamdani Saree. I teamed up a mustard color Satin blouse with this Saree to get a very retro look (I am a crazy retro fan!). I did not use any gold jewelery with this look, instead of that I used Kundan jewelery which is very popular in Hyderabad.

For my makeup, I used only MAC Studio Fix Foundation (NC43.5), with MAC Translucent Powder (NC20). Little bit contouring and highlighting using MAC Concealer Palette(Medium Deep) and also MAC Pigment in Vanilla. And for blush I used Colorbar Cheekillusion Blush in Pink Punch. For my eyes, I used Maybelline Colossal Kajal to line, for liner I used Oriflame Cake Liner and MUA Xtreme Volume Mascara. My eyebrows were undone, sorry about that but I tried my best to make it look alright! And of course MAC Ruby Woo on the lips (I intensionally pick red outfits!). A small bindi to finish up the traditional look.
For eye makeup, I used Inglot refill pan colors in deep brown, light brown and copper, I kept it very simple as i went bold on my lips.

I am on a hair revolution, and I am not using any chemical based products neither hair tools, so my hair is only shampooed and dried basically, nothing more than that or nothing exciting!

So, from the beginning of this month, we started planning for 15th August, Independence Day. And, I have chosen this look only for that special day, I am going to perform in our society premises and I am very excited about that! Lastly, thank you #jabong.com for giving us an opportunity to #WearToExpress for #IndependenceDaySpecial occassion! I can proudly say, this look makes me myself and this is who I am!
