My Hair Care Routine & Hair Pictures: July, 2015

I have resumed my MABH Blogger Hair Growth Challenge Part II recently, and few weeks before that I started my new hair care routine which I am going to share today. Although for about two weeks I was very regular and persistent in this routine, but from last week it somehow got imbalanced, and from this week, I am being very strict again. My daily routine is changed, and that is why I am still struggling to manage time for myself. But, when it is about my hair, I am selfish!

Prime Rules:

I have totally shut down using hair styling tools and sprays, even my hair dryer. I have learned how much it did damage my hair, and while I am in the process of repairing my hair, I cannot afford any more damage. I wash my hair with shampoo at least 4 times a week, for me, keeping my scalp clean and oil free is very essential. I use only one store bought product which is Meera Herbal Hair Wash Shampoo which is very mild and herbal too. So, the basic rules for my hair care are minimal chemical products, no heat, deep oiling and hair packs.

Oiling:

Oiling is very important in case you want to grow your hair or repair any damage. I use Parachute Advanced Ayurvedic Hair Oil, MABH Fast Growth Hair Oil, cold pressed Mustard Oil, Olive Oil, and Soulflower Castor Oil. Is that too many? I know! I use Parachute Advanced Ayurvedic Hair Oil for my regular hair oiling, and the rest are used for deep oiling, twice a week.

Shampooing:

I use Meera Herbal Shampoo with Kunkudukai & Badam only after deep oiling. I dilute the shampoo with water so that the consistency becomes 50% water and 50% shampoo, this is something I like to do, I don’t really know if that helps in reducing chemical-attack. But this definitely helps in coping with the frizzy hair look after wash.

Hair Packs:

  • Herbal Hair Powders Pack: I mix Herbal Hair Powders (Hibiscus, Methi, Shikakai, Aritha, Amla, Brahmi) and pour thee tablespoons of it in a bowl. Then add three tablespoons of fresh curd and three tablespoons of water and mix it all together. I keep the mixture for 1-2 hours to set and then apply it from root to tip of my hair. Then I let it leave on my hair for at least 1 and half hours and then I wash it off with water. I do not use shampoo after the pack, as I use Aritha powder which is a natural shampoo and that does the job. I apply this pack twice a week.

  • Protein Pack: I take 1 egg, 1 banana and 1 cup of milk and put them in the mixer and blend for 1 minute. Then I apply this pack immediately on my whole hair and leave it for 2 hours. I wash it off with shampoo and towel-dry my hair. I use this pack 1-2 times a week.

Hair Pics:

The first picture is from the month January, 2015, the second picture is from the month of April, 2015; the last picture is from the month of July, 2015. You can see the growth and the difference in the first two pictures. The length in the last picture is shorter because I cut my hair as I many split ends. You can notice how this new hair care routine is effecting my hair texture. I am pretty much happy with my current hair condition, I am now just focusing on growing it out.

More updates coming soon, so stay tuned.
