My Eid Special Look: Outfit + Makeup

In Hyderabad, Eid is something very special, and although, I got nothing to do with it, luckily, 29th was my parent-in-laws' marriage anniversary. And, honestly, I leave no occasion alone as I love to dress up and doll up every chance I get! And, the good thing is, I got my very own amateur photographer now in my house who can click my pics. So, this will be my first outfit post here.

I wore an authentic salwar suit and I wanted to go very traditional so, I teamed my outfit with gold jewelries. About my outfit, I got this as a gift long time back, and this is one of my favorite. The salwar is quite simple but the dupatta has zari-work which makes the whole outfit look special and traditional. I am a bit sucker for traditional outfits.

I am a bengali and that will explain my bangles as all bengali married girl wears these. I do not like necklace at all, so I only wore traditional gold earrings with green and red stone works to match my green outfit and red lips.

Makeup: I have used Kryolan Derma Color Orange Corrector to cover up my spots and then I used MAC Foundation shades NC 40, NC 42. To seal the foundation, I have used MAC Sheer Loose Powder NC 20. To get pinkish glow on the cheeks, I used Colorbar Cheekillusion Pink Punch on the cheeks. I little bit of eyeliner and slightly smokey eyes with a bit of greenish shade to match up my outfit did it all. And finally, on the lips MAC Ruby Wooooooooo!!

I was very confused about my hair, and at the end, i ended up doing soft and messy wavy hair. I am still not sure which style would go right with this outfit! But, somehow, soft waves always save me when I am in need! :P

I hope you guys find my little effort tiny bit good. :D Please share your views and thoughts.

P.S.: I am extending my Giveaway some more days, and it will end on 14th August. And, hopefully the winners will be announced on 15th August, 2014!

NIVEA Pearl & Beauty Shower Cream Oil Review:

Monsoon is here! Yes, I love rain and although, the weather in Hyderabad is not so bad, but rainy season is much better! Anyways, today I am going to review another shower cream from NIVEA, NIVEA Pearl & Beauty Shower Cream Oil. Stay tuned to know more.

Product Description: Pearl & Beauty Shower Cream Oil for Beautiful Silky Smooth Skin. Let the seductive scent of Tea Rose gently captivate your senses. The luxurious cream oil formula, enriched with precious pearl extract, envelops your skin with a soft, sensuous foam leaving your skin feeling beautifully soft and silky smooth. Relax and rejuvinate with every shower. pH skin-balanced, dermatologically approved.

Price & Quantity: Rs. 145 for 250 ml.

Ingredients: Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-7 glyceryl Cocate, Parfum, Hellanthus, Annuus Seed Oil, Oenothera Blennis Oil, Glycerin…

Shelf Life: 2 years.

My Experience with NIVEA Pearl & Beauty Shower Cream Oil:

Packaging: NIVEA Pearl & Beauty Shower Cream Oil comes in the ususal NIVEA shower gel packaging, in flat bottle with a flip top cap. The packaging is not so fancy yet, not so ugly too. The bottle is totally spill-proof and travel-friendly. A blue loofah is free with this shower cream which is quite nice and very much usable.

Texture & Smell: The shower cream is a baby pink colored cream which is rich in texture. And its consistency is not so thick, a bit runny. It lathers very well when mixed with water.
The smell is very nice. A beautiful floral scent mixed with other lovely scents, which is quite exotic and seductive too. Bottom line, I loved the smell (before I say too much!).

My Take: I love using shower gels, but creams, not so. Why? You will know, keep on reading.
The rich creamy shower cream lathers very well, and too much actually. So, after my bath, I see a flood of froth on my bathroom floor! Then again, I need a lot of time standing beneath the shower head as the slippery film of this shower cream stays on. And, at last, I give up and leave it that way.
My skin feels absolutely balanced after takng bath with this, I do not feel the urge to use body lotion or body oil even on cool days of rainy season. The lovely smell of this stays for a bit on my skin which makes me feel very good. It also protects my skin from body odor on hot days to some extent. It also make smy skin soft and smooth after every use. Overall, this a decent shower cream for me.

The Good Points:
  1. Rich creamy shower cream.
  2. Smells divine.
  3. Affordable price. Lathers well.
  4. Cleanses skin well.
  5. Beautiful smell stays on, and supresses body odor.
  6. Does not dry out my skin.
  7. Easily available.
  8. Makes my skin soft and smooth.
  9. 250ml will go long way.

The Not-so-Good Points:
  1. Leaves slippery film afterwards.

My Rating: 4.4/5.

My Recommendation: This shower cream is totally meant for dry skin to normal skin. My skin is semi-dry, and I quite like this. Although, it leaves a bit of slippery film, but the beautiful smell and lovely texture of this rich shower cream is what my skin totally loves. It also makes my skin soft and smooth, you can definitely give this a try!

My Top Skin Care Tips for All-Natural Home-Facial: In Six Steps

Doing facial at home may seem like a hassle, but it is not if done the right way. I do home facials most of the time and if it is done with all natural products, my skin becomes really happy! Now, today I am going to share my own all-natural home facial procedure that you can do anytime at home without any worry!

Steps for Home-Facial:

First, you need to clean your face. There are a lot of ingredients right from your kitchen or garden that can help you clean your face. The most effective, would be besan (gram flour). Take two tablespoons of besan and mix it with two teaspoon of water. Apply the paste on your face and neck rub it gently and wash off with plain water. If you have dry skin, you can use milk instead of water to make the paste.
Besan has very good clearing agent in it which will clean your face from oil, dirt and impurities. You can replace your face wash with besan for everyday use if you want a chemical free skin care.

Patanjali Kesh Kanti Milk Protein Hair Cleanser Review:

I have never used any Patanjali skin or hair care products before until now. For the last 3 years or so, I was using a herbal brand shampoo which is based in Kolkata only, but as I am now in Hyderabad, my first worry was which shampoo am I going to use now! I do not trust any store-bought, chemical-infused shampoo and will never touch it. Then, while browsing into Spencer's, I found Patanjali Kesh Kanti Milk Protein Hair Cleanser. Although I was still in fear, I knew I had no other choice. So, I am using this shampoo for the last 2 weeks, and I feel it is the perfect to review it for you guys.

Product Description: Useful in dryness & roughness of hair. Prevent hair fall and improve hair shine.

Price & Quantity: Rs. 95 for 200ml.

Ingredients: Aqua, Neutral thick surfacant base, Stearyl alcohol, Hydrolyzed milk protein, Glycol stearate, Gaur Diazolidinyl urea & iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Derivative of 4, 4 Disteryl Biphenyl, Polydimethyl Siloxane Emulsion Perfume fresh, Lysine mono hydrate, Vit. E acetate, Sunflower oil, Di-sodium editate-QS.

Composition: Eclipta alba (Bhringraj)- 0.50 mg, Lawsonia innermis (mehendi)- 0.50mg, Azadirachta indica (Tulsi)- 0.50mg, Aloe Vera- 0.50mg. {each 10 ml contains}.

Usage Direction: Apply 2-5 ml on wet hair, massage gently for 1 minute and then rinse with water.

Shelf Life: 24 months.

My Experience with Patanjali Kesh Kanti Milk Protein Hair Cleanser:

Packaging: This shampoo comes in a white and pink colored bottle with a flip open cap at the top. Honestly, the packaging is nothing fancy or special but yet again, what is in the packaging. It is travel-friendly though.

Texture & Smell: This shampoo is in white color, thick lotion type of consistency. The rich creamy texture of this shampoo lathers very well when mixed with water.
The smell is somehow disturbing to me, as I have been using my rosemary herbal shampoo for so long, and the detergent-y smell of this shampoo really makes me sad about my hair.

My Take: Okay, so, I am trying very hard to forget about my experience with pure and herbal shampoo and review Patanjali Kesh Kanti Milk Protein Hair Cleanser neutrally. First of all, it does amazing job at cleaning. I have oily scalp and it cleanses my scalp really well removing all the dirt and oil.
the next good thing about this shampoo is it makes my hair silky smooth. My hair texture is very fine itself and this shampoo makes my hair even more soft. I do not see any added shine to my hair though.
Since I have oily scalp, within 2-3 days, my scalp produces oil and if I do not wash my hair with shampoo, I find myself in my horrible nightmare with immense hair-fall. I use MABH Fast Growth Hair Oil 2-3 times a week and Dove Elixir Hibiscus & Argan Hair Oil daily with this shampoo.
I now have no such big hair-fall crisis, thanks to my hair oils. But, as I have moved to a different place and weather, I did face a little bit hair-fall, but now after 1 week of proper care, I see less hair fall. also, while using this shampoo, there is no hair-fall I see, which is a really good sign.

The Good Points:
  1. Cleanses nicely.
  2. Lathers well.
  3. Makes hair soft and smooth.
  4. No harsh chemicals.
  5. No hair-fall during and/or after hair wash.
  6. Affordable.
  7. Easily Available.
  8. Travel-friendly packaging.
The Not-so-Good Points:
  1. The smell could have been better.

My Rating: 4.3/5.

My Recommendation: I would definitely recommend this shampoo to everyone, especially with oily scalp persons. This is a little bit more than decent shampoo with no harsh chemicals and cleanses the scalp and hair very nicely making it soft and smooth. This is surely a worthy of a try for those who love herbal products.

Lotus Herbals Safe Sun Sunscreen Gel SPF 20 Review:

I have this weird thing in me that gives me allergy and rashes every time I use sunscreen and expose under direct sunlight. So, technically, I had only choice which is to get tanned. This was only a few months back when my sister persuaded me to try sunscreen gel. I thought, lets bear more 2 weeks of allergy but take some risk to protect skin. So, I bought Lotus Herbals Safe Sun Sunscreen Gel SPF 20. Today I am going to review about it.

Well.....Take a look at the url address bar for one second, yes!! I got a domain, but as my blog's name is pretty big- 'Indian Natural Beauty & Makeup', I thought people would not have that much patience to write it and search, so, I cut down the name to ''. My blog's name still remains the same.

Today, I am going to review a very different thing, its a men's product! Don't worry, I did not use it to review it. I asked my beau (who is now my hubby) to try it. And he did, and today I am going to share his experience with you guys.

Shelf Life: 30 months.

Experience With NIVEA Men All In One Face Wash:

Packaging: This face wash comes in a grey and black tube packaging with a flip cap at the bottom. The tube is quite travel-friendly and easy to use. Overall, the packaging is nothing special or flashy yet very to-the-point.

Texture & Smell: The face wash is a very thick paste in color grey. Since the consistency is very thick, only a small button size amount is enough to do its job properly. It lathers very well into handful of froth.
The smell is very interesting as it is quite similar to a very popular musky men's perfume (Which obviously I cannot remember now!). So, he likes the smell and me too!

His Take: First of all, let me tell you, my husband is that kind of person who has hardly used any face wash previously. Actually he did, but it is the most irritating 'neem face wash' that should not be considered as a 'face wash'. His skin is super oily with sensitivity, too much sunlight and pollution causes him instant rashes. He never uses any sunblock cream or lotion, and as a result, he gets tanned pretty easily. Now, in this weird condition, I got him trying this newly launched face wash as I thought this one might put him out of his misery.

Here is how I have found out about this product:

It says, It is with cooling menthol. Do you feel cooling effect?
Yes. It does give cooling effect.

Do you feel you face oil-free after using this face wash?
Yes. It removes oiliness.

Do you feel comfortable after using this face wash?
No. My skin feels pulled out and stretched.

So, it dries out your skin?

How long it keeps your face away from oil?
A long time.

Any specific time? Like, 1 hour, 2 hour?
Nah, more than that.

(rolling my eyes) Do you feel fresh after using this face wash?
Yes, very refreshing!

Do you think it removed your tan or black spots?
You tell me.. huh?

I think it did. what do you think?
I also think. My face looks clearer than it looked 2 weeks ago.

So, after this frustrating interview, I finally found that this product has been quite useful for him. He actually looked clearer and fresh once he started using it. He has been using it for the last 2 weeks and he is in love with it. For a careless-about-skin-care person to use face wash daily twice is quite a big achievement in itself!

The Good Points:

  • Removes oil and dirt.
  • Removes tan and dark spots.
  • Does not break out or gives rashes (Suitable for sensitive skin).
  • Easy to use.
  • Lathers well.
  • Rinses off easily.
  • Gives cooling sensation.
  • Gives freshness to the skin.
  • Keeps skin oil-free for a long time.
  • Travel-friendly packaging.
  • Easily available.

The Not-so-Good Points:

  • Dries out skin a bit.

His Rating: 5/5.

His Recommendation: "I loved it. It gives me cooling effect which is very refreshing. It removes oil. Sometimes, I need to use cream afterwards as it dries out my skin. It suited my sensitive oily skin, and no rashes or irritation!! I would definitely continue using it!"

NIVEA Frangipani & Oil Shower Gel Review:

I am settling down into my new home and I am as thrilled as I should be. Today I am going to review one of my favorite shower gel. Shower gels have always been my favorite and first choice. As soon as NIVEA launched some new variants of shower gels last month, I did not waste any minute to buy them and try them! So, here I am with the review of NIVEA Frangipani & Oil Shower Gel.

Product Description: *Unfortunately all the product descriptions are in other languages*

Price & Quantity :Rs. 185 for 250ml.

Ingredients: Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl, Betaine, Acrylates Copolymer, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Parfum, Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Glycerine, glyceryl Glucoside, Sodium Chloride, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Trisodium EDTA, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Sulfate, Benzophenon-4, Lactose, Microcrystelline Cellulose,Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Geraniol, Linalool, Butylphenyl, Methylpropional, Benzyl Alcohol, Limolene, CI 77492, CI 42090.

Shelf Life: 2 years.

My Experience with NIVEA Frangipani & Oil Shower Gel:

Packaging: This shower gel comes in a regular NIVEA shower gel bottles, which are flat and interesting in looks. This one has this beautiful turquoise color that instantly grabbed my attention. It has flip cap at the top and the bottle is very sturdy and leak-proof (Trust me, I have flown Kolkata to Hyderabad with it!). I also got one lovely blue loofah with this shower gel.

Texture & Smell: This shower gel is very thick in texture with small yellow soft beads in it. When this gel comes in contact with water, it creates lots of froth.
Now, about the smell, It smells very nice, like, summer-vacation-spa nice! It has a beautiful floral scent in it which gives it a summer theme boost and also the sweet smell fills up my senses in all right ways. The super awesome fragrance stays on my body very mildly for quite a time which makes me really happy. So, the thing is, I am in love with the smell! <3

My Take: Now, as I told earlier, I love shower gels that includes all season. Sometimes, in rainy days or in winter my semi-dry skin tends to gets stretchy and dries out. Even then, I would rather follow my shower with a body lotion. So, anyways, I was really excited to try this one ever since I have posted about its launch.
The first thing I loved about it after its smell is that I never leave a slippery film on my body. It lathers well and also gets rinsed pretty well. I do not need to spend a lot of time to wash it off. It clears oil and dirt from my skin very well.
It dries out my skin only in cool days, not in summer days. Since it is for summer and was launched in summer time only, I think this little glitch can be excused.
The 250 ml bottle will last a really long time, as I am using it for the last one and half months and yet only 25% has been spent.

The Good Points:

  1. Lovely floral and sweet smell.
  2. Lathers well.
  3. Rinses of easily.
  4. Removes dirt and oil.
  5. The beautiful smell stays on skin for some time.
  6. Affordable.
  7. Easily available online & in stores.
  8. Free loofah.
  9. One bottle goes a long way.
  10. No slippery film afterwards.

The Not-so-Good Points:

  1. Dries out my semi-dry skin (in cool weather).

My Rating: 4.3/5.

My Recommendation: NIVEA Frangipani & Oil Shower Gel is that perfect choice for you if you love lovely smelling shower gels. If you have normal to oily skin, then you can try it without any worry. I am sure you will love its aroma and the after effects. Dry skinned ladies may want to save it for summer days only.
