NIVEA Pure & Natural Olive & Lemon Lip Balm for Dry Lips Review:

How are you all doing in this hot weather? Not so good? I know! Drinking way too much water and juicy fruits will help you sooth your way beauties, remember it!
Anyways, in Summer days, my lips become very dry, especially because of the high humidity level and the natural moisture in our skin gets sucked out by it! Thus our skin is left dry. Now, our lips are more sensitive than our normal skin and they need special care. Since a long time, NIVEA Raspberry Lip Butter was my HG lip care products and no matter which ever lip balm I try, I had to go back to it! But, since I have too many lip balms stored in my cupboard, I wanted to try NIVEA Pure & Natural Olive & Lemon Lip Balm for Dry Lips and review it for you guys. I have also reviewed another NIVEA lip balm from this Pure & Natural range, see it here. So, let us get on to the details.

My Experience with NIVEA Pure & Natural Olive & Lemon Lip Balm for Dry Lips:

Packaging: This lip balm comes in a standard NIVEA twist pen packaging. The greenish packaging is what I liked and it also matches with my blog theme! :P The twist up pen style is much more hygienic to use and restore. The size is also very apt for carrying it in even smaller purse or in pockets.

Texture & Smell: The texture of this lip balm is quite thick but not at all sticky! It is very rich and creamy to apply on the lips and one or hardly two swipes across the lips is enough. It is very smooth and thick like petroleum jelly, but no where near sticky. It has no additional color in it, absolutely transparent.
The smell is one of my favorite, i.e. Jasmine! I have never used any lip balm with this smell, I feel absolutely delighted and happy whenever I apply it and the beautiful intoxicating jasmine smell fills up my smelling sense! Though the smell gets lost within a few seconds, still I love it!

My Take: Well, so far, I loved the smell, the texture and even the hygienic packaging. Now, about its leading purpose as lip balm!
This is for dry lips and I do have dry lips and how do I know it? I need to apply lip balm or any lip care product 365 days a years, and when I don't, it gets chapped, cracked and occasionally bleeding even! So, I was quite tempted and in anticipation also to try this lip balm and see the results. I am using this lip balm for the last 2 weeks and now is the fair time to review about it, methinks.

First of all, this is very moisturising and nourishing. The non-sticky yet rich formula helps to stick on to my lips for the longest period of time. It stays on my lips (if not eating) for at least 5-6 hours. But, after eating it looses its luster, and gives me an urge to reapply it.
You probably know how weird I am and my techniques are, if you don't know, behold and beware! Since I have extra dry lips, and it is just basic habit to apply lip balm all the time! So, to test a lip balm's longevity, I apply it fairly and go for my nap or rather my beauty sleep (*fluttering eyelashes*), and after 1-2 hours if it is still as it were before, then it gets a pass for my lips.
Well, NIVEA Pure & Natural Olive & Lemon Lip Balm for Dry Lips gets a two thumbs up pass from me for its long-lasting formula and also the deep nourishing treatment. It totally cured my chapped lips and with regular use, it made my lips very soft and supple.
These last few weeks have been very difficult for me as the temperature is still on the highest level and the humidity also, but, this lip balm is what my dry lips ever needed!

The Good Points:
  • Very moisturising.
  • Deep nourishing.
  • Cures chapped lips.
  • Makes lips smooth and supple.
  • Very long-lasting.
  • Non-sticky, yet rich texture.
  • Lovely jasmine smell.
  • Pocket friendly.
  • Easily available.
  • Natural product, 100% no preservative! (is it? really?)

The Not-so-Good Points:
  • Does not survive eating.
  • Not tinted, some prefer tinted lip balms.
My Rating: 5/5.

My Recommendation: If you have dry lips or extra dry lips like mine, then definitely go for it. It will moisturize and nourish you lips to just perfection. Though is does not have tint in it, yet it is fully transparent and absolutely no 'white casting' the lips. I love this lip balm, and I like it even better than my NIVEA  lip butter (WHAT!?), yeah, that's true! NIVEA lip butter gives me white cast on the lips, so, I prefer this one. This is my HG lip balm right now, if I ever have to buy a lip balm (after finishing my a year supply of NIVEA lip balms), I would undoubtedly choose this! And those who does not have dry lips, you can try this in winter, for this is a very good lip balm for keeping your lips soft and supple.
