NIVEA Pure & Natural Olive & Lemon Lip Balm for Dry Lips Review:

How are you all doing in this hot weather? Not so good? I know! Drinking way too much water and juicy fruits will help you sooth your way beauties, remember it!
Anyways, in Summer days, my lips become very dry, especially because of the high humidity level and the natural moisture in our skin gets sucked out by it! Thus our skin is left dry. Now, our lips are more sensitive than our normal skin and they need special care. Since a long time, NIVEA Raspberry Lip Butter was my HG lip care products and no matter which ever lip balm I try, I had to go back to it! But, since I have too many lip balms stored in my cupboard, I wanted to try NIVEA Pure & Natural Olive & Lemon Lip Balm for Dry Lips and review it for you guys. I have also reviewed another NIVEA lip balm from this Pure & Natural range, see it here. So, let us get on to the details.

VLCC Skin Defense Almond Under Eye Cream Review:

Hello sunshines!
I know it has been a long time since I have updated my blog! Well, I went to Hyderabad for my dad's treatment and it has been a very hectic schedule ever since! And the horror news I got recently about my exam, so, I am bit shaken still! But, I am doing better now and thought about pampering my blog a little bit.
So, today I am going to review my first ever under eye cream. Yes, I just hit 23 and it is too early to use these cream, but I want to secure my skin from old age! So, I bought VLCC Skin Defense Almond Under Eye Cream and now let us get on to the product details.

Product Description: This unique light formulation with the goodness of Almond & Wheatgerm nourishes & moisturizes the under eye area. It helps reduce dark circle and puffiness, also firms & tones skin around eye area. The natural active ingredients in this cream helps in reducing sings of fatigue & stress by increasing blood circulation in the effected area.

Price & Quantity: Rs. 190 for 15g.

Ingredients: Chamomile Extract, Wheatgerm Oil, Almond Oil, Olive Oil, Vitamin E, Dimethicone, D-Panthenol.

Shelf Life: 2 years.

My Experience with VLCC Skin Defense Almond Under Eye Cream :

Packaging: I like the cute idea of putting the tiny jar in a plastic stand, it is real cute! The jar is made of glass which I find very frightening to use keeping my careless nature in mind! The lid is made of plastic and the jar is quite useful to carry around or store even in small place. But I cannot deny the unhygienic condition of the cream because of its packaging!

Texture & Smell: The cream is white in color and it is of medium thickness, not too sticky or rich. It gets spread and blended very quickly and nicely. The smell is more and more of almond, and is quite nice.

My Take: The first thing I like about this cream is its hydration quiescent, it thoroughly hydrates the area and gives a cooling sensation after the application. I feel like I have applied cucumber cubes on my eyes area. It gets absorbed within seconds which I find very useful as I hate greasy eye area.

Now, although I do not have much problems in my eye area, but there are a few and the one that bothers me is my under eye area is little bit darker than my skin tone. So, I have been using this cream for the last month twice a day everyday. And, I have seen improvements like the brownish area under my eyes are much lighter and almost similar to my normal skin tone. I also had fine lines around the eyes, but for that I did not see any improvements.

I loved using this cream because the one thing that is very important for our eye area, keeping it moistured and hydrated is purely and nicely done by it. One must think it is too expensive for 15g, 200 bucks! I also do, but after using it for one month twice, regularly, only 2-3% of the cream is spent. So, one jar will survive at least 6 months, which I think is enough.

The Good Points:
  • Hydrates well.
  • Small and handy jar.
  • Smells good.
  • Keeps skin moistured for long time.
  • Lightens dark circle.
  • Nourishes under eye area.
  • One small jar survives a long life.
  • Absorbs fast, blends well.
  • Leaves skin oil-free.

The Not-so-Good Points:
  • Expensive.
  • Unhygienic packaging.
  • Does not remove fine lines.

My Rating: 3.7/5.

My Recommendation: I am a beginner in terms of taking care of my eye area. This under eye cream has been very helpful for me. It hydrates really (REALLY) well and keeps the area moistured and nourished. I am loving its effect on my skin. It has lightened the brownish area under my eyes after regular use. Although, I have doubt if it is powerful enough to deal with stubborn dark circles. So, I would not recommend anyone who is suffering from severe dark circle problem, you should try a powerful one. But if anyone wants to try their hands at under eye cream as beginner or just to keep your eyes looking fresh and hydrated, go ahead and try it.

Nivea Visage Sparkling Glow Fairness Face Wash For Oily Skin Review:

As I told in my last face wash review post, that I am going to be reviewing a number of face washes. And, today I am back with Nivea Visage Sparkling Glow Face Wash. This face wash is for oily skin, though I do not have oily skin, but I have combination skin with T-zone oily. And in humid weather, my skin gets even more oily than usual. So, let us get on to the product details.

Product Description: Nivea Visage Sparkling Glow Extra Cell Repair Fairness Face Wash effectively removes up to 90% of oiliness for shine free fairness.
The skin is cleaned, leaving a fair, shine free, radiant complexion.

Price & Quantity: Rs. 79 for 50g.

My Experience with Nivea Visage Sparkling Glow Face Wash:

Packaging: The packaging of this face wash is very simple in white tube. It has a flip open cap at the bottom. The packaging is very efficient and good for carrying in purse.

Texture & Smell: This face wash is a very thick cream in texture. The cream very smooth and once mixed with water, it lathers quite well. It smells really good, I cannot describe the smell, but it kind of reminds me of my childhood days, don't know exactly why!

My Take: I am using this face wash for last couple of weeks and now is the perfect time to review this face wash for you guys. This is nothing special or different than any other face wash. But, I like it. The lathered foam clears up the skin very nicely. And here comes the best part, it does not leave any slippery film after washing. One or two splashes of water washes of the face wash without a trace and leaves my skin squeaky clean.

Now, after pat drying my combination skin feels absolutely clean and oil-free. It does not make my skin stretchy or dry after washing. Though in summer days, I feel quite comfortable not using anything after washing my face but, I recently loved my Khadi Face Freshener. And, after every wash, I use that. So, the thing is, this face wash is very good for summer days for combination to oily skin. And I would not recommend using this face wash in winter for combination skin.

The face wash has term 'fairness' to it, and there are a lot of girls who hate this term. But, I totally ignored it, there are really a few face washes for oily skin that suits me well. And although I also do not like the term 'fairness', I wanted to try it. And yes, I do not see any fairness or skin lightening after daily use, of course! But, I am loving the no-oil effect after using this.

The Good Points:

  1. Removes oil 100%.
  2. Keeps skin oil-free.
  3. Lathers well.
  4. No slippery film.
  5. Makes skin squeaky clean.
  6. Affordable and easily available.
  7. Very good for combination to extreme oily skin.
  8. Good face wash for summer.

The Not-so-Good Points:

  1. The term 'fairness', no effect is seen!
  2. Can be drying for combination skin in winter.

My Rating: 3.7/5.

My Recommendation: If you have super oily skin and in this summer looking for a face wash that would clear up the excess oil and keep your skin oil-free, try this one! You will love it. I would also recommend this face wash to the combination skin for summer days only.

Tan Removal Tips From Your Kitchen:

We all at some point rely on natural things and when chemicals and store-bought products go all wrong, we show our loyalty to the power of nature. I actually trust on natural power all the time, and thus I currently have all sorts of solutions for any problem right from the nature! Sometimes, when people ask me for advice what to use and what not to, they seem really unsure about it, but once they try it, they come back with even more problems for solutions. I guess, natural solutions are quite the best!
Anyways, since it is sunny summer time and most of Indian skin tone tends to get tanned very quickly and badly too. I can speak for myself here, as I have the worst cases ever. I get tanned like in minutes and they were really stubborn when to get rid of it. So, I ended up trying and experimenting many things, and finally I have the solution my dear!

First of all, precaution is better than cure, so use a good sunscreen lotion/cream/gel whatever suits you best. Keep in mind, no matter how expensive or how much powerful your sunscreen is, always reapply after every 4-5 hours (especially if you sweat a lot). Keep an umbrella with you always, and avoid standing right under sun for long period, it will damage your skin tone as well as make you sick (sun stroke!). Wear comfortable cotton clothes and a pair of sunglasses with UV protector.

Solutions for San Tanned Skin:

Yogurt: Yogurt is known as natural bleach. Don't be alarmed to the word bleach, yogurt is 100% natural and safe to use on skin (you eat it for God's sake :P)!
Mix 2 tablespoon yogurt with 1 teaspoon honey. Apply it all over your face, neck and hands or any other exposed area. Leave it for as long as you can, be it 1 hour or 2 hour, there is practically no harm in that. And also, keeping it longer on your skin will only do good your skin tone. Then, wash it off with a mild face wash. Using this pack everyday before bath will clear your tan and brighten up your complexion.

Turmeric: Tumeric is a very popular spice in India or Aisan countries. Raw turmeric is very good for skin. If you cannot find raw turmeric, you can use turmeric powder (not any, as turmeric powder is also used for cooking, they might not be good for using on skin).
Take one tablespoon of turmeric paste and add one tablespoon yogurt in it. Mix it well and apply it on to your desired area. In case of turmeric power, add 1 and half tablespoon turmeric power with yogurt. Keep it for 15 minutes and wash off with plain water. Use this pack 2-3 times a week.
While working with turmeric, do not wear or be near white clothes, it will stain badly.
Turmeric will help you get a even tones skin after regular use.

Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera is a plant and its leaves are very much useful for skin and hair care and even for health. Keep an aloe Vera plant in your house and every time you come home, apply its gel.
If you have sensitive skin, do not apply the gel directly, keep the leaves in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 days and then apply it directly on the skin with a circular motion of massaging. After massing the gel, leave it for at least 30 minutes and then wash it off with plain water.
Aloe Vera will clear your tans and give you a soft skin every time. It will also work on your pimples or rashes and will give you a clear skin.

Lemon: Lemon is also known as natural bleach. It is also very easily available from the kitchen.
Take half a lemon and squeeze out its juice in a bowl. Mix 2 teaspoons of besan or gram flour in it and also add a few drops of honey. Mix it all together and apply it on the face and neck.
Keep it for 20 minutes and wash off with plain water. Use this pack 2 times a week.
This pack will help you clear out your tan and give you a clear skin after regular use.

These are my top tan removal tricks that I use to get rid of my stubborn tans all summer long! I hope this article would help you in getting rid of your tan too. Please share your thoughts and ideas on this topic. Also, share with us which natural trick do you use to get rid of your tan?

Khadi Face Freshener Review:

Keeping skin fresh and glowing is that ultimate wish for this humid weather. And, many toners are available for that purpose, so, while I was shopping online, I picked Khadi Face Freshener. I have heard girls loving spray toners either made with natural ingredients at home or store-bought. [By the way, did you see my skin care haul? Check it here!!] Practically, all these years I have never felt that urge until now to freshen up my face with a spray toner. Anyways, today I am going to review this toner.

Product Description: Freshen up the face by removing dirt and cleaning pores. Active herbs like neem and basil protect the skin from germs. Makes skin soft and fresh instantly.

Price & Quantity: Rs. 95 for 100ml.

Ingredients: Mint, Cucumber, Water, Basil, Leaves, Neem Leaves, Wheat Germ, Rose Petals, Base QS.

Shelf Life: 2 years.

My Experience with Khadi Face Freshener:

Packaging: The foremost reason of buying this particular freshener is its packaging with spray dispenser! The spray works really good and though it is directed to spray on the face, I do not like that way. Spraying directly on the face end up messing my hair or just flying away to the person's eyes sitting next to me! So, I spray 3 times into my palm and hurriedly apply it on to my whole face and neck. The small bottle is also very handy and useful for carrying in small purses.

Texture & Smell: The liquid is like water type consistency. It is very runny and once I apply it on the skin, it gets absorbed very easily without leaving my face watery or oily.
The smell is a mixture of cucumber and mint fragrances which I do not dislike at all, though I hate mint in flavour!

My Take: It is described to spray the liquid on the face, and wipe it off with wipes or tissue. But I do not like this way of using it! I like to apply it on my face with my palms and once it is patted dry, I leave it on.

I have sensitive combination skin with T-zone oily. After applying this toner, my face becomes really cool and I love that tingling sensation! After a few seconds, I do not feel anything but my face remains cool and fresh. I would rather recommend super oily skin ladies to follow the instruction to avoid further oiliness.

I apply it whenever I am out for long hours and also when I am home. I am using it for 3 weeks now, and  what can I say, in this humid weather, I am loving it! It keeps my face fresh and oil-free for at least 3-4 hours and after that, I feel little oiliness in the sides of my nose. But, the freshness continues to stay on my skin and makes my skin soft.

The Good Points:

  1. Freshening.
  2. Helps cooling down the skin.
  3. Keeps skin fresh and oil-free.
  4. Instant freshness with cooling sensation.
  5. Lovely packaging.
  6. Pocket-friendly.
  7. Very good for those who stays long time outside.
  8. Great to fight summer days.

The Not-so-Good Points:

  1. Oil comes back after 3-4 hours.

My Rating: 3.9/5.

My Recommendation: If you have dry, normal, combination skin, you can definitely try this for your quick refreshing your skin. You can apply your sunscreen after using it. For oily skin, I would recommend to wipe it off with tissue after applying and continue with sunscreen. I am loving this freshener on the go, for a quick refreshment for my face. Since I have sensitive skin, I can tell it is absolutely safe to use, and after using for 3 weeks straight twice a day, it never broke me out or anything else for that matter. So, give this a try this summer!

My Haul:

Two things attract online shoppers a lot, one, cheap price tag and second, FREE SHIPPING!! Somehow, even we do not need or want to shop at the moment, but once these two things hit our eye sight, we go crazy! I am not sure if I am speaking for most of you or not, but this is definitely my bad nature!
While searching through different blogs and different online shopping sites in various tabs open in my system, I found out this amazing online site named It has lovely products from very useful household things to beauty accessories to electronics appliances. The best this indeed has free shipping and the price tag is absolutely pocket friendly!

Now, I cannot say my shopping experience with this site has been smooth, well, it was not at first! I placed my first order on 20th Jan, and it was a messed up situation where my parcel was lost and the customer care service told me that it was lost in some snow-storm somewhere. Anyways, they finally refunded my money in coins (which can be used for my next purchase and also can be transferred into my account). So, what I did was, I placed another order within 2 days of my refund and to my astonishment, the parcel came within 14 days!

Products I Have Bought:

  • 11 Piece Bamboo Makeup Brushes- $11.19.
  • 4 Pieces Makeup Face Brushes- $7.75.
  • Tapered Eyeshadow Blending brush- $1.02.
  • 10 Pairs of False Lashes- $2.31.
  • 5 Pieces Nail-art Tools- $1.55.
  • Mini Tri-pod for Point and Shoot Camera- $1.65.
  • 15 Pairs Ear Plugs (not pictured)- $1.79.

I am a beginner in makeup, and since a long time I was craving for professional makeup brushes. And, honestly, RT or Sigma brushes are out of my league, still to get my hands set for pro makeup, I needed proper makeup brushes. This site has various kinds of makeup brushes, probably all any person may need. The one thing I was not sure about was the quality, and after receiving the parcel, I am more than relieved, I am super happy! Because, the quality is excellent and no fall-outs at all, plus they are super soft and skin-friendly!

The 11 Piece Bamboo Makeup Brushes have all sorts of face and eye makeup brushes, the 4 Piece Makeup Face Brushes are specially for a flawless base makeup application. And though the 11 piece set had a blending brush, I took another, just like that!

I am also a keen soul about nail art, and till now I did not have any nail art tools; so, I sort of needed this!

I was not really sure about false lashes, but they really enhance the look once applied properly!

There are a few times that I have complained in my FOTD or other posts about not having anyone to click my pictures, well now, I have mini-tripod which is very useful as it can be attached or places anywhere. The stands are flexible for twisting and wrapping them around pole or stand or even windows!

Finally, I bought ear plugs, sorry at the time of clicking pictures, I could not find them anywhere! And my forgetful nature prompted me to buy ear plugs in 15 PAIRS (irony, innit?)!! Anyways, I really have sensitive sleeping, any sound inside or outside my room wakes me up, so I needed it! Also, while flying, my ears really hurt!

So, that is my ranting about shopping online with some really cheap and needed products with some random mind-less products (may be!). Even if you do not like my post, please share your thoughts! Just kidding!

Have you ever shopped from If you are planning to, put my name 'Arshita' as referrer to get 5% off for your first purchase! See you soon! xoxo...
