Oriflame EverLasting Foundation-Light Ivory Review & Swatches:

I am not into foundations much, I prefer BB cream; though I cannot come up with a reason other than Lakme CC cream works the best for me! Anyways, even though I do not like to wear foundation on regular basis, I cannot stop myself from buying them. And, I bought Oriflame EverLasting Foundation few months back and today I will review it for you guys.

Product Description: High-performance foundation for long-lasting flawless wear. With Patented Skincare Tecknology Velvety-smooth finish and comfortable fit. Medium to high coverage.

Shades Available: Light Ivory, Porcelain.

Price & Quantity: Rs. 790 for 30 ml. (Offers available)

Shade Reviewed: Light Ivory.

Ingredients:

Shelf Life: 3 years.

My Experience with Oriflame EverLasting Foundation- Light Ivory:

Packaging: Oriflame EverLasting Foundation comes in a plastic bottle with an inbuilt pump. The pump system is best for foundation as it helps to preserve the product safely and in a hygienic way. The pump helps to take out to exact amount you need, thus no messy situation here. It is also travel-friendly.

Texture & Finish: The texture of this foundation is like whipped cream, its fluffy and very smooth. It does not seem or even feel heavy on the skin. I can easily apply and smoothen out this on my skin.
It gets absorbed pretty well and no patchiness or flakiness can be seen anywhere. It covers my light spots and blemishes to some extent. The best part of this foundation is its finish, it gives a smooth and glowing finish to my skin. The lightness of the foundation helps to give the velvety smooth and effortlessly natural finish to the skin.

My Take: I absolutely loved this foundation, but unfortunately it did not match my complexion. I would blame the lesser shade option! Anyways, the staying power is superb, it does not fade away or becomes patchy even after 7-8 hours. Because of it's light texture, it sits on the skin quite well and becomes natural skin. The glowing and smooth finish is somewhat the main attraction of this foundation, also the fluffy and light composition.
This foundation could be my favorite if it could match my complexion (only two shades?!).

The Good Points:

  • Light and fluffy texture.
  • Gives medium coverage.
  • Feels light on the skin.
  • Gives a smooth and glowing finish.
  • Absorbs and sits well on the skin.
  • No patchiness or flakiness.
  • Inbuilt pump system.
  • Travel friendly packaging.

The Not-so-Good Points:

  • Only two shades available.
  • It is a bit pricey, but offers are available too.

My Rating: 4.6/5.

Recommendation: If you have fair and medium complexion this foundation will have a match for you. But my complexion falls somewhere in between, so it did not match me. But, the best parts are the light texture, glowing and smooth finish and long staying power. So, if you are lucky enough to find your match, you might like this in your vanity.

Oriflame Pure Nature Organic Tea Tree & Rosemary Purifying Wash & Tone Gel Review:

I have combination-sensitive skin and because of that I have a problematic skin with occasional acne and rashes and also the ugly spots. So, ever since I became an Oriflame Consultant, I searched and researched a lot on how to make my skin less-problematic. And, I came up with an option, using Oriflame Pure Nature Organic Tea Tree & Rosemary Purifying Wash & Tone Gel. Today I am reviewing this face wash for you guys.

Product Description: 2-1 gel that lathers to gently remove impurities and help clear blemishes.

Price & Quantity: Rs. 349 for 150 ml. (Available offers)

Shelf Life: 3 years.

My Experience with Oriflame Pure Nature Organic Tea Tree & Rosemary Purifying Wash & Tone Gel:

Packaging: This face wash comes in a long slim bottle with a screw cap on the top. The bottle is very sturdy and spill-proof to carry it around. The greenish bottle looks quite organic type (I like those products which looks organic and natural, it is probably a mental thing!)

Texture & Smell: The face wash is in gel form, a liquid gel. The consistency is not too thick. It does not lather too well, meaning, no foaming at all. Yet, to clean the face, it is enough as it does its job pretty nicely. It removes oil and dirt instantly. The good part is, it does not leave any slippery film (I reject most of face washes because of the slippery film). My face becomes squeaky clean without any trace of oil or impurities.

It smells quite good, there is a hint of tea tree oil in its smell. Also the smell is not at all over powering or too strong.

My Take: I have used many face washes and my search for that perfect face wash was way too long. Though I cannot say my search is over but, this face wash is definitely a keeper in my face wash quota.
Oriflame Pure Nature Organic Tea Tree & Rosemary Purifying Wash & Tone Gel removes and keeps my skin oil-free for a long period. Though I feel little stretchy skin in winter days, but in the summer, it feels quit perfect.

For the past few months, I have suffered major facial skin problems which left me various spots and marks but when I started using this face wash, magically, all the spots and marks vanished without any traces. My acne is now totally under control, meaning none at all (*snap*)! My face is in better condition in each and every way possible.
I am now thinking about trying the whole Tea Tree range from Oriflame, like the Tea Tree Oil and corrector.

The Good Points:

  • Cleans oils and dirt.
  • No slippery film.
  • Cleans face squeaky clean.
  • Affordable price.
  • Travel friendly.
  • Controls acne.
  • Removes spots and blemishes.
  • One bottle will go for at least 6 months.

The Not-so-Good Points:

  • Does not lather much.

My Rating: 4.7/5.

Overall Verdict: This is my HG face wash at the moment though I am really keen to try TBS Tea Tree face wash. It removed all my acne marks and blemishes within the use of one month. It controlled my acne and keeps my combination-sensitive skin healthy and clear. I am practically in love with this face wash.

Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Polish Glam 9 Review, Swatches & LOTD:

Maybelline recently launched this new range of lip glosses in the name of Lip Polish. Yes, lovely name right? So, the blog world is now flooded with these 15 shades of Lip Polishes and I could not also resist in buying a few for myself! Today, I will be reviewing Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Polish Glam 9.

Price: Rs. 450.

Shade Reviewed: Glam 9.

Shelf Life: 36 months.

My Experience with Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Polish Glam 9:

Maybelline presents a new range of lip glosses with 15 lovely shades to choose from. There are two types, Glam and Pop; Glam being the soft and dark shades and Pop being the bright, popping shades. Though I had special longing for all the Pop shades, as I love bright lip shades, yet Glam range has these beautiful shades which makes it even difficult to select one.
There are shades like nude, peach, pink, red and even brown and purple! Such a variety of shades and I guess Maybelline did an awesome job in choosing the shades.

Packaging: Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Polish comes in a small glass container with a silver twist-open cap. The applicator is very soft and easy to apply on the lips. The packaging is quite handy and small enough to carry around.

Shade: Now, I have chosen this Glam 9 which is a soft pinkish peach shade. Pale pink shade somewhat washes out my complexion, so I went for a pinkish peach shade. This shade will look good almost every skin tone.

Texture: The gloss is enough pigmented, and 2-3 swipes gives me the proper shade. The texture is a thick and not sticky or waxy. It does not feel heavy on the lips. Though it transfers at times and maybe because of the texture, I get some blank patches too. The staying power is just average, it starts to fade away in patches after 3-4 hours.

My Take: I loved the shade, it is a perfect sweet summer shade for daily wear. The pigmentation is also quite satisfactory but what I did not like is the finish. It gives a glossy and glamorous finish but because of the thick texture, it transfers a bit and leaves some blank patches on the lips. Staying power could have been better but, all lip glosses have this short lifetime on the lips. It is not at all waxy or sticky which is pretty good.

The Good Points:
  • Lovely and useful packaging.
  • Handy and travel-friendly.
  • The applicator brush is quite impressive.
  • Well pigmented.
  • Lovely shade.
  • Vast of shades to choose from.
  • Affordable price.
  • Not sticky or waxy composition.

The Not-so-Good Points:
  • Sometimes, becomes patchy.
  • Staying power could be better.

My Rating: 4.4/5.

My LOTDs & FOTD:

Overall Verdict: I liked Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Polish Glam 9. This lip gloss is very good for casual summer look, the shade is also subtle and sweet enough to carry. There are various shades to fulfill each girl's demand. The beautiful packaging and in such affordable price, it is a steal deal guys!

Important Skin Care Tips for Sensitive Skin:

Sensitive skin is not actually a skin type, it is a skin condition. Oily, normal and dry are skin types. When consulting a specialist, I got to know about this. My skin type is oily or combination and my skin condition is sensitive. My skin is actually allergenic to any kind of SPF, meaning if I wear any product with SPF and step out under direct sunlight, it will take only 2-3 hours to see my face completely covered with rashes and redness (how painful my life is!). Not only this, if I accidentally use expired products or even my skin care products get any contact with the direct sunlight, I get the rashes. I seriously do not know either I am vampire or Sun has special grudge against me!

Anyways, I learned how exactly to take care of my super sensitive skin the hard way! They say, you are the best doctor for you, as in you know better what suits you better than anybody else. Well, this is definitely true!

Symptoms of Sensitive Skin:

  • Getting rashes now and then is not normal, you might have problem either with a particular product or your skin is sensitive.
  • Burning sensation and stinging effect on skin using upon alcohol-based or certain chemical based products.
  • Sudden redness and itching on using expired or high-chemical products such as bleach.

How to protect Sensitive Skin:

  • There is nothing safer than using all natural treatments.
  • For cleansing, use gram flour mixed with cold-raw mild paste. This will help you get a clean and fairer looking skin.
  • For moisturizing, use a aloe vera gel. Aloe vera gel with help your control acne and give you a clearer and fresh looking skin.
  • Apply oats mixed with water on your skin allergies or rashes. This is a quick fix for sensitive skin as this cools down the sensation and treats the skin naturally. (Works every time for me!)
  • Always do a patch test before buying any skin care or makeup product.
  • Keep an eye on the expiry dates of all of your makeup and skin care products, especially for the skin care products and foundations.
  • Do not scrub your face vigorously. Sometimes, scrubbing face too roughly will result in rashes and redness. Always use mild scrubs (with light and soft granules).
  • Apply sunblock before heading out. If you are not comfortable with sunblocks, use a light moisturizer and compact on top. This will create a shield for your skin.
  • Do not change your skin care products too often. Maintain a CTM routine with a good natural brand.
  • Use homemade face packs weekly.
  • Wash your makeup brushes weekly or at least twice a month. Untidy brushes tend to attract germs and bacteria.
  • Do not share your makeup brushes, compacts or even eye shadows; be it your mother or sister or your BFF. Sometimes, they might not get infected by germs while your skin is very vulnerable.
  • Do not touch or rub your face often, especially while staying long hours outside.
  • Keep a good hand sanitizer always in your handbag. Sanitize your hands before applying makeup.
  • Use a separate face towel for your personal use only. Use this towel after washing your face and doing CTM.
  • If you face rashes and redness or itching, apply fresh and cold cucumber juice frequently. Cucumber juice will help reduce the burning and itching sensation and cool down your face infection.
  • Use good quality, soft bristles brushes for your face.
  • Keep gentle wet wipes in your handbag. When exposed to Sun and pollution, after every 5 hours, wipe your skin off and apply sunblock or moisturizer followed by compact.
  • Get consulted by a skin specialist if you see any problem in your skin.
  • Sometimes, eating particular food can also cause problems for your sensitive skin. In that case, avoid too much junk food.
So, this is how I protect my sensitive skin. Though, it cannot be said that if you follow these tips, your skin will be safe. Because sensitive skin is very unpredictable and you never know what causes your skin troubles. These tips will definitely help you cope with the general problems that you face.
Take care of your skin and stay healthy. xoxo

It gets spread on skin very easily and to apply it right on the pigments and concealing it can be done effortlessly. The creamy texture helps to get a nice smooth finish to the skin.

The Medium to Dark shade is perfect for medium to fair Indian skin tone. My skin tone is medium with yellowish undertone, and hence this concealer looks very natural on my skin. This concealer will also look quite good on Indian skin tone with pinkish undertones as it will help get a nice warm tone. The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner Review:

I have problematic skin, I do not experiment with my skin care products a lot. But, The Body Shop Tea Tree range somehow influenced me to use it. I recently reviewed The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Cleanser and today I will be reviewing the toner from this range.

Product Description: Sweeps away the traces of impurities for clearer looking skin. Leaves skin looking mattifyied. Infused with tamanu oil. Suitable for blemished skin.
With white willow bark, lemon tea tree oil and Community Fair Trade organic tea tree oil.

Price & Quantity: Rs. 795 for 250 ml.

Directions to Use: Shake well to activate. Apply to a cotton ball and sweep over face and neck.

Shelf Life: 3 years.

My Experience with The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner:

Packaging: The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner comes in a medium size fat bottle. It has a screw cap with a flip open lid. The bottle is quite heavy, though it is spill-proof but somehow I need to be very careful while packing it for travelling.

Texture & Smell: The liquid is thin like water. It has a bit greenish tone to it. It smells exactly like tea tree oil, as expected. Though the finish is not like water or thin. When applied on the face with cotton ball, it serves a coating on the face which I like (some toners are just like applying water on face).

My Thoughts: I have combination skin with the T-zone oily, I do not have pimple-prone skin. But, as I have blemishes in parts, I opted for this Tea Tree range. I must say, I am seeing visible results in almost 3 weeks. My skin looks clearer, I have not faced pimples ever since I am using this Tea Tree range (not even in my pre-period days!) The blemishes or pigments are somewhat lighter than before.
The toner has quite a moisturizing effect on the skin, it does not dry out my skin. It does not sting or give burning sensation to my skin, which I experience with almost 90% of the toners. The texture of my skin has improved a lot after using this, it became smooth and really soft.

The Good Points:
  • Does not sting or hurt.
  • Good for sensitive skin.
  • Controls oil.
  • Moisturizes the skin.
  • Smells good, like Tea Tree oil.
  • Huge quantity.
  • Trusted, cruelty free brand.
The Not-so-Good Points:
  • Bit expensive.
  • Not suitable for dry skin.

My Rating: 4.7/5.

Overall View: If you have blemished or pigmented combination to oily or normal skin, give this a try and I believe you won't be disappointed. It sure helped me with my spots and pigments, and I am hooked on to it for life (or until I find a better one, which I think next to impossible for my moody-weird sensitive skin!).
