The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso UV Protector Review:

The Body Shop has some decent products and that fact keeps pulling me towards its store. The last time I visited The Body Shop store, I picked up a UV protector moisturizer for my skin. So, today I will be reviewing the same.

Product Description:
Daily UVA/B protection.
Helps protect against sun damage and dark spots, as skin is hydrated, softened, and complexion appears more translucent and luminous. Infused with shiso, vitamin C, liquorice and Community Trade Aloe Vera. Use daily after whitening serum. If product gets in eyes, rinse with clean water.

Price & Quantity: INR 2295 for 50 ml.

Ingredients:

Shelf Life: 3 years.

My Experience with The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso UV Protector:

Packaging: This moisturizer comes in a off white tube with a flip cap at the bottom. The packaging is nothing special or attractive, but travel friendly.

Texture & Smell: The moisturizer is a thick cream. Only a little amount can be spread all over the face nicely. It also blends in quickly. It does not make my skin greasy, if applied a correct amount, it gives a matte-ish look which is very preferable for me.
It does not smell bad. I mean, sure it does not have like some nice fragrance but it does not smell weird either. I guess, natural stuff!

My Take: I have minor allergenic skin, and any cream or lotion with SPF gives me bad allergy even with one time application and hit by direct sun light. Being a natural brand, I trusted The Body Shop and thought lets give it a try. But, it was a bad idea for me, when I wore it and went outing, it gave me allergies. Sad story!

Anyways, since then I am using this moisturizer as my CTM moisturizer. And, there is no complain about this one. Its been almost 3 months I am using this daily indoors, and no break out or rashes have been noticed further.

The thick consistency helps to give a nice coating of moisturizer on the skin. I have normal skin with T-zone oily, and it does not make my skin oily or dry anytime. It is described by the product that this is suitable for all skin type, and I quite agree. It provides moisture and hydration instantly.

I feel soft and smooth skin after using this moisturizer, no stickiness or oily feeling. It stays for a long time. I do not feel my skin dry or stretchy for longest time! I have been using this moisturizer since monsoon and now it is winter, I am still happy with it. But, I have doubt how much it will turn out in summer, as my T-zone gives me a hard time then.

The 50 ml tube is enough to survive for at least 5-6 months, as only a small amount is needed every time. I feel this is a quality moisturizer which gives proper nourishment and moisture to the skin. I wish I did not have allergy from SPF, then it would be my HG product, I guess. Still, I love this moisturizer as my night moisturizer, it provides me all that my skin needs.

The Good Points:

  • Natural Product.
  • SPF 30.
  • Gives a matte or non-greasy look.
  • Stays on forever!
  • Moisturizes and nourishes skin well.

The Not-so-Good Points:

  • Expensive.
  • Not allergy-tested.

My Rating: 3.7/5.

Do I Recommend The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso UV Protector?
Yes, unless you have allergy of SPF! It is a very nice moisturizer.

Would I Repurchase?
Probably no.

Parachute Advansed Butter Smooth Body Lotion Review:

Having slight dry body skin, I need to start using body lotions and body oils when winter knocks at our door. The whole year I do not much care as it does not feel stretchy or dry at all. Recently I bought Nivea Happy Time Body Lotion, and I am absolutely happy with that one but that portable lotion goes for my purse. So, I bought this Parachute Advansed Butter Smooth Body Lotion for regular use. Now, let us see how is it for me.

Price & Quantity: INR 75 for 100 ml.

Ingredients:

Shelf Life: 2 years.

Usage: For, best results, apply daily all over your body. Suitable for use by entire family.

My Experience with Parachute Advansed Butter Smooth Body Lotion:

Packaging: Parachute Advansed Smooth Butter Body Lotion comes in a nice curvy bottle in chocolaty butter color. I love the curvy style. Also, the bottle is very sturdy and it has a flip cap at the top. I think, the packaging is quite good for holding and attractive. It is also travel friendly, I can put it in my purse and forget about it.

Texture & Smell: The lotion is quite thick in consistency. But, that does not make it difficult to spread on the skin. It blends very nicely into the skin, though at first it looks quite greasy or glossy, but within 5-10 minutes it becomes matte naturally.

It smells like chocolaty and with a little hint of coconut in it. I liked the smell, it is not overpowering or burns my nose. The smell does not even makes me feel it is there at all, yet my skin stays perfumed.

My Take: I have a special fondness for body butters, and when I saw this one, I wanted to try it. Parachute body lotions have a few variants, though I did not try the others, but read good reviews. And, I loved this one, there are reasons why.

Firstly, I like the buttery consistency, it really nourishes the skin and provides moisture. It does not make the skin feeling greasy but it keeps dryness away. I have dry skin, but not very dry skin, and this body lotion works for me very well. This makes me think that for very dry skin, this body lotion might not be nourishing.

Secondly, I love the smell. I hate overpowering smell of body lotions, and the way they make me feel their existence!

The staying power is not bad either. It keeps my skin nourished for almost 7 hours, I feel that is quite enough.
Overall, I think it is quite a good quality body lotion which keeps my skin nourished and balanced in moisture for quite a good amount of time.
I got this cute little face wash free with this! <3

The Good Points:

  • Thick buttery consistency.
  • Nourishes skin.
  • Keeps skin in moisture for a long time.
  • Smells nice, not overpowering.
  • Affordable price.
  • Easily available.

The Not-so-Good Points:

  • Not for very dry skin.

My Rating: 4/5.

Do I Recommend  Parachute Advansed Butter Smooth Body Lotion?
Yes, if you have normal to dry skin, give this one a try.

Would I Repurchase?
I don't know! I like it though, may be I will find something better than this. :P

Top 10 Winter Care Tips:

Winter has come, and unlike the other seasons in this season, our skin and hair require concentrated care. We all moisturize our skin but not only that is all, there are a few more things that you can do to take extra care for your skin and hair. In this article I will share my top 10 Winter Care tips with you all.

1. Deep Moisturising: Moisturization is a must practice in winter to get a healthy skin. Sometimes, we opt for cold creams as they are meant to be perfect for winter. We should always use those moisturizers or creams that are suitable for our skin type, like for oily skin try moisturizers with fruit extracts or light moisturizers and for normal skin go for Vitamin E based moisturizers, for dry skin shea butter or oil based moisturizers are best.

2. No Hot Bath: I know in chilled weather, we all crave for a nice hot bath. But the hot water drains out all the skin moisture and thus makes the skin very stretchy and dry. So, instead of hot bath, go for warm bath i.e. only a bit warm than normal room temperature. This way you will get your relaxed bath and also it will not harm your skin.

3. Go for Body Oils: I personally love body butters and body lotions, but having dry skin, my winter days forces me to use body oils. Body oils provide extra moisture and health to the skin, it also helps to keep the skin nourished for longer time. If you do not like body oils, try aromatic body oils or mix it with essential oils to get concentrated cure.

4. Keep Blow Driers Away: Yes, blow drier is enemy of your hair in winter! The hot air dries up the hair and  sucks all the moisture out of it, it also causes flaky scalp. So, ditch your drier right away and dry your hair naturally!

5. Pampered Feet: Not all suffer from cracked heels, but in winters feet and heels become real dry and lose its softness. You need to keep moisturizing your feet two times a day, after bath and before bedtime. And both the time after applying foot cream or moisturizer slide your feet into cotton socks. Socks are the best way to lock the moisture in your feet and if you follow this every day, your feet will be soft and smooth all winter!

6. Water, Water Everywhere: Drink a lot of water, really, a lot of!! The more water intake, the more healthier skin. When you wake up in the morning, before brushing or after brushing drink a big glass of plain water (not warm), this will detoxify the body and help to wash out any bad thing in your body. Doing this everyday, will definitely make some changes.

7. Lip Love: Your lips need love in Winter, not your saliva! I mean many of us lick our lips when it feel dry, you need to stop doing that as it makes your lips more dry and pigmented! So, do not lick your lips, always keep your lip butters and lip balms handy.

8. Caring for Hands: Wear gloves whenever going out, and if possible indoors too. Wearing gloves will help you not to do works with water which is the first step of caring. Always, use hand creams and each time you are done with work, apply cream and massage your hands. Those who have dry skin often suffer from flaky palms in winter and the main reason for this is too much contact with water.

9. Eye See You: Eye are the most delicate part of our body, they need special care. If you have problems life wrinkles or fine line use a concentrated eye cream. And if you don't have any problems, use Vitamin E based cream or Vitamin E oil on the eye area before going to bed. The cold weather and chilled air can cause damage, drying or dark circles around eyes.

10. Special Intimate Care: Lastly but definitely not the least, take special care of your intimates. Wash the area with a pH balanced wash and moisturize daily to keep the area clean and safe from unwanted build-ups.

Nivea Lip Butter Raspberry Rose Review:

Lip butters and lip balms are my all season companion as I really love to take care of my lips even if they are not chapped or dry. For my winter lip care, I always preferred Maybelline Baby Lips but when browsing through the winter care section in the mall, I saw Nivea Lip Butter Raspberry Rose and I felt really attracted to it and I bought it. So, let us see how is my experience with this one.

Product Description: Nivea Lip Butter is the NEW range of deliciously-flavoured and butter, rich lip-care products that melt to give your soft & well-moistured lips. The moisturizing formula of Nivea Lip Butter with Hydra IQ contains shea butter and almond oil and provides intense moisture and long-lasting care. The indulging formula with raspberry aroma gives sensationally soft lips and leaves a soft shine of colour on your lips.

Price & Quantity: INR 189 for 16.7 g.

Ingredients: Cera Microcristallina, Paraffinum Lquidum, Polyglyceryl-3, Diisostearate, Butylrospermum Parkii Butter, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Aqua, Glycerin, Glyceryl Glucoside, BHT, Aroma, CI 77891, CI 15850.

Shelf Life: 30 months.

My Experience with Nivea Lip Butter Raspberry Rose:

Packaging: If you have used Nivea creams before you would be familiar with this one's packaging. It has the same flat and round tin container only it has nice rosy pink color on it and the classic Nivea has blue. The container is pretty big size and very easy to use. But, as I am used to the stick lip balms these days, I think it can be little unhygienic.

Texture & Smell: The lip butter is in baby pink color. When I opened it first, it looked very frosty and little bit frozen. But when I started using it, the texture was really rich and thick in consistency. It actually feels like butter when I touch it or apply it on the lips. And the great part is only a tiny bit amount nicely covers moistens my lips.

The name of this lip butter gives a hint how nice it might smell, and probably that is the reason why I was attracted to it. It smells like a beautiful aromatic candle! It has rosy smell and also mixed with little bit fruity smell, altogether it smells out of the world!

My Take: Apart from the smell, I really like the texture and richness of this lip butter. It instantly moistens chapped lips and cures it totally. Once I started to use it regularly, I did not experience any dry lips or chapped lips condition.

The staying power is pretty impressive, almost 7-8 hours including coffee drinking and snacks eating. If I apply this lip butter once, it does not go away or dries out. But, because of its baby pink color, it gives the lips a baby pink tint. Now, since my lips are little bit pigmented on the edges, it looks little odd. So, I would prefer to use this lip butter only in home.

The super creamy and rich formula of this lip butter is super hydrating and lovely aromatic therapy for chapped and dry lips. I am really glad to own this and I guess I will have lovely lips this whole winter or my next two winters. Honestly, the 16.7 g packaging will serve me at least 3 winters!

The Good Points:

  • Super nice aromatic smell.
  • Rich and creamy texture.
  • Moistens lips instantly.
  • Cures chapped and dry lips.
  • Stays onto lips for 7-8 hours.
  • Keeps lips smooth and balanced in moisture.
  • Fair pricing.
  • Huge quantity.

The Not-so-Good Points:

  • The unhygienic packaging.
  • Gives a washed out look for the lips.

My Rating: (Purely for lip caring purpose) 4.9.

Do I Recommend Nivea Lip Butter Raspberry Rose?
Yes. For winter days, this is very useful and caring lip butter.

Would I Repurchase?
I do not think I need to, as this container will go a really long life. And once it finishes, definitely I will buy another.

New Maybelline Colossal Kajal Review & Swatches:

I am a Maybelline Colossal Kajal fan since almost 2-3 years, and about two months back Maybelline presented their super popular kajal in new improved Avatar with 12 hours of smudge proof formula! The previous version of Colossal kajal was said to be smudge proof up to 6 hours, but for me it stayed until I removed it. So, I was pretty excited to try this new one which is said to stay the double amount of time!

Product Description: Enriched with Olive Oil Esters, Vitamin E, Vitamin C Derivatives and Conditioning Agents, Colossal Kajal has our deepst black pigments, a unique tip and an exclusive colcor fix formula which gives you smooth, intense black colour that stays for up to 12 hours. The Colossal Kajal is opthalmologically tested and is suitable for contact lens wearers.

Price & Quantity: INR 175 for 0.35 g.

Usage: Draw a neat black stroke along your lower waterline. For a more dramatic look, add a bold stroke on the upper lid.

Shelf Life: 24 months.

My Experience with New Maybelline Colossal Kajal:

Packaging: The New Maybelline Colossal Kajal comes in that exact same yellow thin pen packaging like the previous version. It is a twisting pen. The tip of the kajal is very precise and easy to draw thin and neat lines. The precise packaging is very helpful for carrying them in my purse.

Texture: New Maybelline Colossal Kajal is highly pigmented. It has intense deep black pigments in it. And It gives a deep black matte look. The best thing about this kajal is it is totally smudge proof! I mean, if you even want to smudge it, you cannot!

To do a little smudge proof test, I gently rub my fingers on the swatch and nothing comes off! Then I applied a little bit pressure, and still it was intact, after doing it for a few times, only it became 2% fade. I think, this is just an amazing point of this kajal!

My Take: As I said before, I am using Colossal Kajal for a really long time. But this one has blown my mind. I am not into reapplying makeup every 4-5 hours, and for that matter this kajal is just perfect for me.

The extreme black pigment helps to use it as liner and kajal. Also the precise packaging of this kajal is very useful.

I wear this kajal every time and it never smudges or make me panda-eyed ever no matter how much I rub and be careless about my makeup! Also, while removing it with makeup remover it comes off pretty smoothly without leaving a black patch on my eyes. I guess this time, Maybelline really deserves a thumbs up for this super awesome mystery formula!
The description says contact lens wearers can also use this kajal, I cannot comment on that matter, as I am not a contact lens wearer.

The Good Points:

Deepest black pigment.
Does not smudge at all.
Stays for more than 12 hours!
Affordable price.
Precise packaging.
Easy to remove with a makeup remover.
No irritation or burning reaction.

The Not-so-Good Points:

Are you kidding me? There is none!

My Rating: 100/5!  (LOL!)

Do I Recommend New Maybelline Colossal Kajal?
Yes, it is highly recommended!

Would I Repurchase?
Hell yes!
