To Use: Mix two tablespoons of Gram flour (besan), one tablespoon curd and juice of half a lemon. Apply this paste on the face and let it dry. After 20-25 minutes, wash it with lukewarm water gently scrubbing.

My Paraben-free Healthy Haul from Healthkart:

Since my CTM supply was about to finish, I needed to buy new batch but recently I read an article and got too scared of the harmful chemicals that are used in our skin care products. So, after a week’s long hunting, I finally narrowed down to cleansing milk and toner that is actually “PARABEN FREE”! Yes, I have; but unfortunately as not all moisturizers agree with my skin, I had to continue my latest Avon Fairness Cream.

Bought list:
  1. Aloe Veda Cypress and Witch Hazel Astringent Facial Toner- Actual Price: INR 185, Healthkart Price: 185.
  2. Aloe Veda Liquorice & Lemon Gentle Cleansing Milk- Actual Price: 160, Healthkart Price: 160.
  3. Lass Naturals Pomegranate & Grapes Face Wash- Actual Price: 105, Healthkart Price: 105.
  4. Herbal Hills Keshohills- Actual Price: 267, Healthkart Price: 199.

I placed an order with Healthkart, as this was the only site where both the toner and cleansing milk was ‘in stock’. And in this site, after searching for paraben free face wash, I found Lass Naturals Pomegranate & Grapes Face Wash. Then, when just searching through the site, I found these herbal pills for hair; and I am a crazy girl who can do anything and everything to get better strands of hair! So, I bought these 4 items.

Experience with Healthkart: This is an online site that has variety of categories from cosmetics to skin care to nutrition’s to health gadgets to healthy food supplies. Customers can pay via credit and debit cards, online payment, or Cash-on-delivery. For free delivery, the cart value has to be above Rs.500. I have ordered on 20th July 29, 2013 and this order came to me on 26th July 29, 2013. The courier partner for my order was Bluedart, and I have experienced bad with bluedart previously. And compared to other online stores, this was very prompt delivery.

When I ordered for COD, immediately I got a call from the customer service for confirmation of the order followed by a detailed email. This shipment was done within 3 hours and after 3 days I got more calls from Healthkart asking if I have received my order. The day I have received it, I got calls again for confirmation. Again, the packaging was very good, along with wrapped in bubble wrap, in the boxes there were air bags to keep the products safe. Thus, no damage or no leakage was experienced.

I have shopped from many online stores, Flipkart, Myntra, Medplusbeauty, Urban Touch, Snapdeal, Homeshop18; but Healthkart was better than all those sites. Though the other sites give more discounts than this site, yet the service was very good and satisfying. I highly recommend this site for everyone.

I will be reviewing these products very soon, and I hope you liked my haul. Take care and stay happy…

Elle 18 Black Out Liner Review, Swatches and EOTD:

Eye liners are must for any eye makeup, and after trying a lot of liners, a few months back, I thought of trying Elle 18 Black Out Liner. So, today I am reviewing this one.
Product Description: Packed in fancy girly bottle, Elle 18 black liner is glossy, slightly thick but appropriate liner for application during the day and night. Unique applicator brush with the lid is the one you will fancy about. It helps you put the liner just in time on your upper or lower eyelids. Black out liner is a definite buy and a must have product.

Price and Quantity: INR 65 for 5ml.

Key Ingredients: Rose water (nothing else is mentioned).

Shelf Life: 2 years.

My Take on Elle 18 Black Out Liner:

Packaging and Texture:
Elle 18 Black Out Liner comes in a small and cute round bottle that is very girly. The applicator brush is more than appropriate, very sleek and precise. The liner is thick in consistency and dries very fast, like in less than 30 seconds.
My Experience: I am so glad that I have bought this liner. First of all, the liner has perfect applicator, not too thick or too thin; exact for applying liner on the eyelids. Even if I get ready in rush, I never forget to do my eye makeup, I may not apply shadows then but this liner is must as it dries quickly. But, contrary the product description it does not stay glossy, it gives a matte look, which is perfect for both night and day outings. Now, about staying power, it stays until I wash it off, really! Last time, I wore it for the longest time that is for 8 hours; and to my amusement, it neither faded nor smudged. The liner stays exactly how I apply. The other wonder is, it is somewhat waterproof; it survives splashes of water and also rain until it involves rubbing eyes vigorously. The amount and the quality I am getting from this liner at this price is a bonus.
After Drying
The After Effect: It does not sting or irritate my eyes; it does not gather pigments in the inside corner of my eyes (some liners do!). It gets removed quite easily also, leaves no traces.
The Good Points:
  1. Decent Price.
  2. Good quality Product.
  3. Fairly large amount.
  4. Precise applicator.
  5. Easy to apply and remove.
  6. Stays for several hours.
  7. Does not fade or smudge.
  8. Dries super fast.
The Not-so-Good Points:
  1. There is none!
My Rating: 10/5!

Do I Recommend Elle 18 Black Out Liner?
Yes!

Would I Repurchase?
Only forever!

Vaadi Herbals Tulip Oil Control Moisturizer with Green Almond Extracts Review:

Since I was a kid, I had bad experiences with moisturizers. And when I started doing CTM, then I had to use moisturizer at the end, but it would make my face greasy and broke out. I was so irritated by all this, for several months I stopped my CTM regime; then I found Aloe Vera Gel, and I started using that instead of moisturizer ever since. Two years back, in the winter when I used one moisturizer for my daily use, I fell in love with moisturizers again. And then I searched and bought Vaadi Herbals Tulip with Green Almond Extracts Oil Control Moisturizer to replace Aloe Vera Gel for my CTM moisturizer. I went to total herbal movement since that time, and this brand convinced me to use it, especially its name.

Price and Quantity: INR 59 for 110ml/3.87oz.
Key Ingredients: Extracts of Tulip, Green Almonds, Cucumber and Carrot.
Usage Direction: Cleanse the face thoroughly. Apply lavishly all over the face and neck. Use regularly both in the morning and evening.
Shelf Life: 3 years.

My Take on Vaadi Herbals Tulip Oil Control Moisturizer with Green Almond Extracts:

Packaging and Texture:
The bottle in which this moisturizer comes is a sturdy bottle but the flip top cap is not that much sturdy. It has very flowery smell, which is not over powering or too strong. The texture of this moisturizer is tiny bit runny, and thus only a small amount will do the work. The moisturizer is very easy to spread on the skin and also it gets absorbed very fast.
My Experience: This moisturizer is not heavy on the skin, yet it gives me a nice moisturizing to my skin. Only a small amount will do the work. It gives a matte look, after applying and also it keeps my face oil-free for several hours. However, I feel this moisturizer is better for my winter days; I feel comfortable using Aloe Vera Gel during my summer days.
The After Effect: Vaadi Herbals Tulip Oil Control Moisturizer stays on my skin for a really long time; and it never broke me out. As it is not heavy on the skin, it neither leaves any shine on my face nor makes my skin oily afterwards at least up to 5 hours.
See, no greasiness!
The Good Points:
  1. Decent Cheap Price.
  2. Good quality.
  3. Nice flowery smell.
  4. Does not make skin oily for a long time.
  5. Not greasy.
  6. Absorbs quickly into skin.
  7. Stays for long time.
The Not-so-Good Points:
  1. No detailed ingredients list provided.
My Rating: 4.9/5.

Do I recommend this moisturizer?
Yes. It suits my combination skin.

Would I Repurchase?
Yes!

Oriflame Enigma Antiperspirant 24+ Deodorant Review:

Honestly, I sweat a lot, like really lot! I have always used body sprays all my life, until I thought of trying a roll on deodorant that too from Oriflame. Whenever, my friend handed me the Oriflame Catalogue, I used to ogle and the list of products to buy would increase every second! Oriflame Enigma Antiperspirant 24+ Deodorant was my first roll on deodorant and here I am going to share my experience and details of it with you.
Price and Quantity: INR 149 for 50ml. or 1.6fl.oz.
Key Ingredients: Aqua, Aluminum Chlorohydrate, PPG, Stearyl, Ether, Steareth-2, Cyclopentasiloxane, Proprylene Glycol, Parfum, Glycholxasiloxane, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylpheyne, Methylpropional, Allantoin, Citronellol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Coumarin, Alpha-isomethyl Ionone, Pogostemon Cablin Oil.
Oriflame Code No.: 13919.

Shelf Life: 3 Years.

My Take on Oriflame Enigma Antiperspirant 24+ Deodorant:

Packaging and Texture: this deodorant comes in a small maroon roll on type bottle with screw cap. The texture of the deodorant is transparent in color and somewhat slimy in consistency. It is also very easy to roll on the skin, and get the exact perfect amount in no time.
My experience:
Firstly, the smell is divine, mild but yet strong (confusing right? It does smell like that!). The slimy effect goes off after a few minutes, and only the beautiful fragrance lingers. The smell is not over powering though, if you walk down the room, people won’t smell this fragrance (like what happens with body sprays), but if you are dancing with your friends in a party, they might turn around and ask you later which perfume are you wearing? The fragrance lingers for more than 24 hours (as it claims), too hard to believe right? I apply it in the morning before going out, and the next morning in my bed, I still am amazed to still smell so good and fresh.
The After Effect:
Like other roll on deodorants, it does not leave any white coating on the skin (win win!). As I said, the smell does not go off until I bathe.
The Good Points:
  1. Nice smell.
  2. Mild fragrance yet very prominent.
  3. Does what it claims.
  4. Good quality product.
  5. No paraben! (Yay!)
  6. Smell lingers for more than 24 hours.
  7. Does not leave white coating on the skin.
  8. Cost effective.
The Not-so-Good Points:
  1. There is none!
My Rating: 5/5.

Do I Recommend Oriflame Enigma Antiperspirant 24+ Deodorant?
Yes!If you are looking for a nice smelling deodorant that will stay for a really long time, give it a try!

Would I Repurchase Oriflame Enigma Antiperspirant 24+ Deodorant?
Yes, also I want to try the other variants.

Himalaya Herbals Fairness Face Pack Review:

Everybody loves face packs, I do too. Himalaya Herbals Fairness Face Pack is one of my weekly face packs. I have been using this for a long time and I am going to share my experience with you.

Claims of the Product: A smooth spreading pack enriched with anti-oxidant Turmeric and Saffron that lightens skin, clears spots, gives fairness with an even tone. Aloe Vera hydrates, Kaolin removes impurities and Walnut helps in skin regeneration giving you a fair, blemish-free complexion. Cinnabloc our breakthrough herbal sunblock provides effective protection for your skin from sun’s harmful UV rays.

Price and Quantity: INR 110 for 100g.

Key Ingredients:
Sorry about the picture, this is the excess glue from the wrapper!

Usage Direction: Apply evenly over cleansed face and neck, avoiding the area around eyes. Allow it to dry for 10-15 minutes. Remove with wet sponge and wash with cool water. Use once or twice a week.

Shelf Life: 3 years.

My Take on Himalaya Herbals Fairness Face Pack:

Packaging and Texture: Himalaya Herbals Fairness Face Pack comes in a tube packaging with flip top cap. The smell of the pack is very pleasant like the Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Face Pack. The texture of the face pack is a thick whitish mud like.

My Experience: The pack is very easy to spread on face and also to remove off. After 10 minutes of applying it starts to dry and after 20 minutes it dries completely. It cleans my face completely and makes my skin soft and smooth. But, it somewhat dries out my combination skin (normal skin with T-zone oily).

The After Effect: I have used this face pack more than 5-6 times and not a single time I have experienced any of the results that it claims, like, “lightens skin”, “clears spots”, “gives fairness”. I am sorry to say this, but it is actually the truth. I was very happy using Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Face Pack and it did what it claims. But this product failed to amuse me.

The Good Points:
  1. Good brand.
  2. Decent price.
  3. Smells good.
  4. Cleans face.
  5. Makes skin soft and smooth.
  6. Works well as any regular face pack.
  7. Fairly large amount provided.
  8. Easy to apply and remove.
 The Not-so-Good Points:
  1. Contains SLS.
  2. Dries out my skin.
  3. Does not do what it claims.
 My Rating: 3/5.

Do I recommend it?
Um, maybe. It is a decent face pack but don’t expect much from this.

Would I Repurchase?
Yes. It may not work as “fairness” face pack, it works perfect as a regular face pack; so, yes.

Gifts From A Loved One:

Last week, I received a gift hamper from one of my loved ones; I was so happy and excited to see the gifts! I love receiving gifts, who does not; anyways, and when I am getting loads of gifts, I would just take them to my room and for hours I would stare at them first and then inspect them, and keep smiling. First of all, I am not going to take her name, but she loves me so much that she gave me these things without even my approval or letting me know. Getting gifts and while opening them not knowing what is in there is the best part, isn’t it? Secondly, she did not let me give her any return gift; how unfair is that? I know!

Anyways, she somehow realized my recent love for Avon and Oriflame products; thus she managed to get in touch with agents and got these hampers for me. She also gave me a pair of sunglasses and a dress. But, today I only have the pictures of the products.

Here is the list:
  • Oriflame Milk and Honey Moisturizing Shower Cream.
  • Oriflame Power Shine Satin Lipstick-Brown Sheen.
  • Oriflame Power Shine Satin Lipstick-Satin Mauve.
  • Oriflame Very Me Peach Me Perfect Skin Glow-Light.
  • Oriflame Pure Color Nail Polish-Clover Haze.
  • Avon Naturals Fairness Bar Soap.
  • Avon Naturals Hand Gel Peach.
  • Avon Simply Pretty Color Me Nail Enamel-Deep Lilac.
  • Avon Ideal Shade Pressed Powder-Light Wheat.
  • Avon Care Fairness Cream with Liquorice.

I will review the Oriflame products very soon, and you will be able to read the Avon products’ reviews on Makeup and Beauty Home.
Stay happy, stay beautiful…xoxo

Blue Heaven Liner 03 Blue Review:

Blue shades are the second best color as eye liners, after of course black shades. I happen to buy eyeliners, eye pencil, kajals randomly from almost anywhere and everywhere. This, Blue Heaven Liner 03 Blue, I picked it a few months ago from a mall. And I am sorry that I threw away the cartoon of it, and also I forgot its price. :P

Blue Heaven is an Indian Cosmetic Brand. Maybe some of you are hearing the name for the first time. But, I have used this brand, from it’s never goes off nail paints to cream compact powders. This brand is not only popular among Indians; YouTube videos and blogs would prove that, actually that was the reason when I first bought this brand. Now, this liner was a new addition to this brand recently, and as soon I saw it behind the counter, I bought it. I have used it many times, for my day outings, especially. And now, I am sharing my experience with you guys.
Quantity: 2.2g.

Shades Available: Black, Red, Silver, Blue.

My Take on Blue Heaven Liner 03 Blue:

Packaging and Texture: This liner comes in a small bullet type packaging, in blue color. It has a screw cap, which is a good point. But, one has to be very careful with it, as it might break off if handled harshly. It smells little odd, like castor oil or olive oil type. I know, I it is a good thing for eyes, but they do not have pretty smell.

My Experience: I have used this liner both as liner and kajal. Each time, it paid me off beautifully. The staying power is very good. It did not smudge or fade for a really long time. Also, the stick type liner is very convenient for applying. The only thing I wish Blue Heaven could skip is the shimmers. I like shimmers, but sometimes I don’t. On the other hand, it never stings or hurt my eyes, maybe the goodness of the oils! The soft and moisture texture of it and those shimmers gives nice look to my eyes.

The After Effect: As I said about the good staying power, the one bad thing is that the shimmers make it hard to remove it completely. This is the reason why I hate shimmers.

The Good Points:
  1. Good Packaging.
  2. I don’t remember the exact price but I can say it was very affordable.
  3. Nice shade.
  4. Staying power is very good.
  5. Does not sting or hurt.
  6. Decent amount.
The Not-so-Good Points:
  1. Shimmers. :P
  2. Availability. (I have not seen this liners online, and in the stores also, it might be hard to find)
My Rating: 4.8/5.

Do I Recommend?
Yes.

Would I Repurchase?
Yes!I Would like to try the silver one also.

Oriflame Eyelash Curler (Code no. 9315) Review:

I am a no-makeup type person; hence only eye and lip makeup are crucial for me. I do not compromise with my eye makeup and a few years ago I bought eyelash curler by Oriflame.
Previously, I heard that eyelash curler is not good for lashes, they gets uprooted more often if we use curler. But, seeing those pretty curly lashes in the advertisements, I also wanted that. And I bought it, ever since I am using it.

Product Description: Get dazzling lashes in only a few seconds with this easy-to-use lash curler that doesnot crease lashes. Use it before applying mascara for longer and prettier lashes. Made of nickel-free alloy. With burgundy rubber handles. 11x4cm

Back then when I bought it, it was priced INR 129, now it has increased to INR 179. Now, the curler seems somewhat safe to me, as the grip of the curler has a rubber coating. This helps my lashes to get curled in a gentle way. There are also rubber grip in the handles. The soft purple rubber makes it look so girly and pretty.
See the rubber coating?

This eyelash curler works perfectly fine if used in a proper way. I do sometime hurt my eyelashes while doing makeup in rush. The right way to use eyelash curler is to place it right where your eyelashes have curve and then press the handles gently. It always completes my eye makeup and makes me feel confident about my lashes without wearing a false one…:P
So, do you use eyelash curler?

Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Face Pack Review:

Himalaya Herbal is one of the best herbal brands of India that has been very popular for ages. I personally love its products. Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Face Pack is a face pack for normal to oily skin. I have normal skin with T-zone oily, and this face pack suits me perfectly.

Claims of the Product: A purifying pack that helps to regulate excess oil secretion, cleans clogged pores and prevents the recurrent of pimples. Neem, well-known for its purifying and anti-bacterial properties, helps in controlling acne and pimples and their recurrence. Combined with Turmeric, it helps remove acne-causing bacteria. Fuller’s Earth (Multani Mitti) cools and soothes the skin, improving skin texture and leaving you with clear, problem-free skin.

Price and quantity: INR 65 for 50g. Key Ingredients: Fuller’s Earth, Neem, Turmeric.

Ingredients List:

Usage Directions: Apply gently over cleansed face and neck, avoiding the area around eyes. Allow it to dry 10-15 minutes. Remove it with a wet sponge and wash with cool water. Use once or twice a week. Do not apply on broken or inflamed skin.

Shelf life: 2 years.

My take on the product:

Packaging and Texture: This face pack comes in a tube with flip top cap. The smell of this face pack is very pleasant, like some floral talc. The pack is a deep greenish, thick in consistency paste. It might be a little hard to squeeze out after 2-3 uses, but it is very easy to spread on the skin. The tube of 50g has a decent amount of the face pack. One tube gives me 4-5 packs, if applied on face and neck.

The Experience: It takes average time of more than 15 minutes to dry completely. The smooth paste is very easy to wash off also, leaves skin fresh and clean. The pleasant smell lingers on my face for a good period of time. It does not dry out my normal skin areas, neither makes my skin oily. It also zapped few of my pimples once.
The After Effect: It gives an instant glow to my face. The skin feels very soft, smooth and clean. Though the glow does not stay for much time, but it makes my skin very fresh-looking.

The Good Points:
  1. Good brand.
  2. Decent price.
  3. Good packaging.
  4. Smells good.
  5. Gives an instant glow.

  8. Helps cure pimples.
The Not-so-Good Points:

Yes

Yes. Absolutely.
